“Sunday Review” Mixed Media Piece

It sometimes starts with a wire brush for distressing.

Then gathering different possibilites from my stash.

The title “Sunday Review” came as a result of the last piece I attached, a vintage slide gleaned from a yard sale entitled Keston Pond, The Sunday Walk. Reviewing my own need for the Sunday church activities which I used to engage in this piece evolved very intuitively without me really knowing that it would end up speaking to my faith deconstruction.

Having recently visited Westminster Abbey it gave me a connection to the black and white vintage photo I came into possession of. It came from the estate of a very old friend who had been born to medical missionaries who served in West China in early 1900s. The family returned to Canada after a world tour on Canadian Pacific Railway steamships. The photo is copyrighted to CPR circa 1915.

Laotian cotton pants, film, photographic slide, perle cotton, handmade paper, cardstock, cotton, thread, ca 1920 Canadian Pacific Railway photo of Westminster Abbey.
